The Edge

Powerful Women Authors and a Funny Memoir

I think my favorite read recently was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. The story really sucks you in and pulls at your heart strings. It leads you in one direction emotionally and then it just tortures you trying to put the pieces back together and figure out the truth.

Another one is Tina Fey's Bossy Pants . I've had a love-hate relationship with this book. The first few chapters literally had me laughing out loud with tears dripping off my face and then you go through a dry spell and then back to really funny. In short, you need to know and love Tina Fey's personality to get it and love it. It's witty and interesting and being able to read it in her voice with her mannerisms makes it that much better. - Erin M.

If you are familiar with the host of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson you will find this to be right in line with his on-camera persona. If you aren't familiar with him, well here's your chance! This book is an enjoyable romp through his upbringing in Scotland, his decent into and eventual rise out of alcoholism, his various romances and marriages, his career as a comedian, landing the part of the infamous Mr. Wick on The Drew Carey Show, being awarded the role as the host of CBS's Late Late Show, and all the while pursuing and ultimately obtaining his lifelong dream of becoming an American. - Jackie F.
