The M-Edge e-Luminator2 booklight (patent pending) is the ultimate accessory for Nook, Kindle (Second Generation and Latest Generation), Kobo, and Sony Reader Daily Edition (PRS-900). This custom designed booklight works seamlessly with the M-Edge Executive, Platform, GO!, Trip, Flip, Latitude, Cambridge, and Capital Jackets. The powerful light features a super-bright LED light bulb which provides ample illumination for the screen of the e-reader while a mirrored reflector and optical quality lens disperses the light uniformly. The light is powered by a standard AAA battery (not included) with endurance enough for more than 20 hours of operation without dimming. The light is operated by a three position switch with two light intensity settings. A flexible and resilient steel neck allows the user to position the light in the desired direction.
Perhaps the most impressive feature of this light is that it is designed to be stored via a slim support arm sized to match a pocket sewn into the back of the of M-Edge jackets. The light pocket is conveniently located behind the e-reader and does not interfere with the use of the device. When in the storage position, the light is located conveniently in the spine of the jacket so you can easily bring your light while on the go (for our Executive, Platform Jackets). For our Latitude Jacket, there is a storage pocket to easily place your e-Luminator when not in use. With the slim and sleek nature of the GO!, Trip and Flip jackets, the e-Luminator can be stored on the exterior of the jacket or easily removed after use.
I have tried many different models, makes, and brands of booklights - the M-Edge e-Luminator 2 has worked perfectly for me. Sliding into the M-Edge jacket worked perfectly and was a treat compared to clip on or overlay lights. The light is plenty bright. I only use the low setting. It is not too bright, but I have never needed to use the high setting. I've used it for about 1 hr/day for the last 3 months and the single AAA battery is still showing no sign of running out. The light itself and flexible arm works great. I liked it so much I bought a second one just in case they ever discontinue them in the future. My standards for book lights are very high and I finally found one that makes the grade. I have only used for my Nook, but I plan to modify a holder so I can use the light with a paper book too. I searched and searched for a suitable light for my Nook - each one I tried either put a really intense light circle on the page or glared so bad you could not read with it - the M-Edge light is really perfect. There is ample light to read with absolutely no glare. Thank you M-Edge.
I am so upset that I do not have a light for my kindle anymore. It died after about 20 hrs of use, I know it was 2 1/2 years old, but rarely used (only in bed). Nothing I tried worked, 3 different brands of new batteries--nothing. Now trying to buy a light for my 2nd generation Kindle, nothing size wise comes near, but do not want to buy another poorly executed product. Beware.

I bought my M-Edge light and My M-Edge cover the same day as I bought my Nook.I love all 3.Even though my light has started flickering a lot and I've only had it 7 months I still give it 5 stars.It is the best light and easiest to use out there.I have been waiting to replace my light hoping they come out in black.
If this light worked as it should, it would be excellent, and I would have given it 5 stars. Unfortunately, however, the low-level light flickers or does not illiminate at all. It seems that the conductor is loose and doesn't make steady contact. That said, the high-level light works perfectly, its a great design in that you can twist the base to position it where you want it and you can also maneuver the neck of the light for optional illimination of the K3 screen. I will contact M-Edge customer service to see if they will replace my light. I will retrn to post the results. I've heard that they have excellent customer service, so I expect that I will be upgrading my rating.
My first light was defective - the bulb jiggled and I was never sure if it would turn on, and when on if it would stay on. After reading some of the reviews here, I decided to see if it could be replace. The answer is Yes! Once I located the receipt, order number, etc., the company was quick to respond and offer a new one. I am very pleased!
This is a follow-up to an earlier review. My light quit working and after I posted a review I was contacted by customer service. They promptly replaced my light even though it was past the 6 month guarantee. Thanks M-Edge I really like your products.
I read in bed at night... every night. I didn't really want to try this light b/c it's a bit pricey and I didn't think the single light coming from the side of the book would illuminate the book evenly. Boy, was I wrong! My husband bought it for me for Christmas, and it's awesome! I previously used an $8 Great Point light with 3-led lights, which is the best I have found... until this. The GP light is finicky... i.e. the light shuts off if you move it too much when it's on. Also, the batteries for the GP light are hard to find and somewhat expensive (cheapest I found was $3 per battery, and it requires 2) So, the other great thing about the e-luminator light is that it uses a regular battery (not the lithium batteries). So, even though the $20 seems steep at the outset, the battery savings in the long run will make it worth it. And, btw, it works great with my GO jacket. I like it so much, that I just bought another one :)
I had a reading lamp for my Kindle and it worked ok but kept slipping down and I would have to hold or keep adjusting it. I sent a note to MEdge and they immediately replaced it and the new one is GREAT. I highly recommend it and this wonderful company, Thanks MEdge
This is by far the best light out there. Batteries seem to last forever on this thing.
After dealing with Customer Service representatives,Stephanie and Cindy regarding a slight malfunction of my e-luminator light and recent expiration of the warranty,I can truly say it was above and beyond my expectations..the company definitely stands behind their product...KUDOS !!
I love, love LOVE this light! In the past I have had book lights that clip on your book and they also clipped just fine on my M-Edge Prodigy Jacket, however, where do you put them when you are not using them!?!?!?! This light fits right inside the spine of my Kindle jacket and is not even in the way when I am not using it!! Everyone needs one of these!!!
I wrote a review saying how great the light has been, but that I had a hard time getting the battery out. I received a response from Customer Service the next day offering to send me a replacement light. Wow! That's customer service. Too bad I can't everything through M-Edge!
Since the Kindle isn't back lit, this light is the next best thing. I happily read at night or in low light and I love it.
Great light. However it took me awhile to realize that if I slid the light out of the case a little bit, I could get it to rotate to a more usable angle. Silly me.
I love this little light. I can read in bed and not disturb my husband. It's easy to maneuver and place properly so there is no glare on the Kindle. Love it!
I tried to buy the discontinued light for Sony Touch, and of course couldn't; I took a chance that this would work for Touch with an Executive Jacket and it totally does. Please update your Compatibility section.
This light works great with my Platform jacket. It fits great and stores out of the way when not in use. I like that it has a low and high setting which is perfect for just about any reading situation.
The company that sells the m-edge light. E-mailed me the next day after my poor review of this light. They have replaced this light with a new one at their expense. The light works great. This is a great company to do business with, They stand behind there product. Rare these days.

The e-Luminator2 worked great for six months and then the light switch failed. It will only work on the lowest setting. No fixes that I know of. Only replace at $20.00
I use it with my Kindle Touch. An already easy to read book is even better now. Worth every penny I paid for it!
I reported my flickering light to M-Edge, and as I expected, they promptly replaced it with a light that works perfectly. So, now I have upgraded my original rating of the Illiminator 2 with 5 stars. I love it. It allows me to read in bed at night and lights my Kindle 3 without causing glaire. I definitely recommend it.
