A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I were flying from Barbados back to Houston, Texas, by way of Miami, Florida. We had bought some rum and some rum punch in the duty-free shop in the Barbados airport, and we carried the glass bottles in their cardboard boxes onto the plane for the flight from Barbados to Miami. But once we got to Miami International Airport, we had to pack the rum and punch into my wife's small roll-on bag and check that bag at the counter for the second-leg flight to Houston. Well, I did not notice that my wife had earlier put her 2nd-generation Kindle into the side pocket of that roll-on, or I would have had her carry on her Kindle. When we got back to Houston and picked up that roll-on at baggage claim, it smelled of rum punch -- because one of the punch bottles had broken. What was worse, though, was to see the Kindle's M-Edge Latitude Jacket soaked in rum punch. But get this: When we opened the Latitude Jacket, my wife's Kindle was bone-dry -- and still worked. So, thank you, M-Edge, for making rum-punch-proof covers for Kindles!
I've had the Latitude cover for my Kindle 2 since I got it a couple of years ago. Now my cover looks dirty & used (much loved). I wanted to replace the cover - No longer available! Pity - really a pity! I love the reversable zipper, the pouch for storing my recharger. "Sigh" so now what do I do? Sure don't want a pouch - doesn't seem like it would be as convenient as the "whip out the kindle, unzip, flip the cover & rezip & read" that I'm use to. I shall continue to love my old Latitude cover to bits I guess.
I purchased the Latitude Jacket for my Kindle 3. The first jacket I mistakenly purchased for the Kindle so it was way too big. When I called for an exchange, they said no problem and even provided me with a return prepaid postage label. The price for the jacket was very competitive (not to mention free postage) and came in a timely manner. I have mentioned this site to several people and will definitely use them again.
I can't believe that I waited all this time to purchase a cover for my Kindle. This cover is great -- works well with the light I purchased from Medge, too!
I love my cover. It really keeps myKindle clean and dry. The only thing that would make it better would be an attachable shoulder strap. Maybe my review will challenge some one to get one made.
I had a M-Edge that finally had some problems after 2 1/2 years of use. The new one is even better.
Glad I I get another jacket for my wife's Kindle 2, she has worn the first one out, never leaves without it!
My cover was a Christmas present from my parents, and they had accidentally purchased the Edge cover for kindle 3. I found this website and FINALLY found the proper cover! I have the lime green color, and I like the zip pouch for the charger and the pocket for the e-luminator (which I also love). It is sturdy, keeps my kindle warm and safe from Catzilla, and I really like that it zips, just in case kindle should ever try to escape from its elastic clutches.
I find that my kindle easily slips out of the elastic which is meant to hold it in place. I end up reading from the kindle without the cover. I may as well have bought a sleeve. Otherwise it seems durable, zips good etc.
It sounds like you may actually have the Kindle 3 or Kindle 4, which are both much smaller devices than the Kindle 2. If you would like to return your Latitude Jacket, please contact us at customerservice@buymedge.com. Thank you!
I love this case. It is perfect in every way. I agree with all the reviews so far. I like the way you can turn it inside out. I zip is partially up and slide my hand in to it and hold it one-handed! Love ther red!!!
I've had this jacket for almost a year and it is the only one that I now use! It's protected my Kindle 2nd gen for a few drops and more than a few bumps in my handbag. I'm getting another one ormaybe two to stockpile.
I looked for a long time trying to find one that zipped up and had a compartment for the USB cable. A light can be added too. It has a pocket on the back of jacket for storing the light when not in use. So glad I bought this one!
I have one for my Kindle 2 and absolutely love it!!! Now I have a colored nook as well and can't wait to buy it!!! :)
Love this case, finally a company that believes the plug should be with your book. Nothing worse than reading your book and having to look somewhere else for the plug. All in one place, when needed. The case is light, but still gives great protection. Can throw in my purse or suitcase and not worry about it. There is allow room once you put the plug, to put some ear pieces, in case you wish to listen to the book instead. Great product !!
I've had my Latitude Jacket and carrying case or a little over two years. It is the best when I take my grands to various events. The fact that the light can just slide out and be turned is a plus. The only downfall if you can call it that is the color, I have the lime green with all the use it has gotten it is dirty. I am deciding now if I want to order a drker color or the Go Jacket. Lovet this product as much as I do my Kindle.
