It took me a couple of days to get used to this case but overall I really like it!! It's very minimalistic and fits easily into my purse or bag, doesn't weigh much, provides good protection for the front and back, and is easy to hold. I do wish that opening/closing the cover automatically turned the ipad screen on/off, but the buttons on the ipad are easily accessible so its not a big deal. All in all, I'd say its almost perfect!
I use my mini as a Daytimer and notebook such that I no longer carry pen and paper. This case maintains the sleek feel of the mini and still allows it to be easy to hold. Yet I have still managed to drop my mini a few times while showing off I guess and the case provided excellent protection. I'm not sure that's in the advertisement. Otherwise, you'll earn style points as it seems like in every meeting someone is asking where did I get the case. I even received a call from a guy who went to the Apple store looking for one immediately after attending a meeting with me. I've never had that happen before with a phone case.
The most important factor for me for finding a case for my iPad mini was weight of the case; I figured that you really can't go without a case (or sleeve) if you need to take your device with you in a travel bag. I looked into this a lot, and found this product met most of my requirements. There is no magnetic sleep/wake on the cover, but that was pretty low on my list of priorities. The standing feature is pretty cool; you're not limited to certain angles as with most cases. The case does only stand in landscape orientation, but I think that is common. The micro-suction strips do rest against the screen, but I asked the customer service people about long term effects of it, and they said it would be fine, and from my experience I would completely agree with that. The m-edge customer service was impressive; I wish more companies were as great as them. The next time I have a need to order an item similar to this, I would come back here first.
Over all the product works well to protect the ipad mini and adds little to the overall size. The one draw back is when in the propped up position the back support is flexible. When a touch screen or home button press is needed, you must support the back of the ipad so that it doesn't flex away from the touch. Despite the flexing, the stand up angle is variable allowing the desired angle to be easily set. Only works in landscape however. Apparently, there are magnets built into the case because when closed the ipad immediately goes to sleep.
If you are looking for a minimalistic cover/case that still looks sharp, look no further. I just purchased this a few days ago at Best Buy and am in love with it. I was using previous cover just as expensive and was just as nice but much heavier and more bulky. This case is so minimalistic is doesn't feel like it's there. Unlike Atlanta Traveler's review, my case wakes and sleeps the screen when I open and close the cover. Perhaps it's a new version of the case. Regardless, I love it!!!
This case was even more than what I expected. I wanted this lighter case for carrying the device in my bag. However, when it arrive I realized that it can be used to allow the device to stand - the current display of the case on the website does not show this feature - I find it cool. My iPad is still on back order but I wanted to have the case for when it arrived.
Hate the feel of this = cheap!
I was looking for a lightweight, strong case for my iPad Mini. Thought if the tablet was small, the case should be too. Very happy with the Profile case. The only drawback is that the strips that allow you to "stand" the iPad up at various angles leave a smudge on the screen. The smudge is very easy to whip off, I just happen to be one of those who likes a pristine screen.
Lightweight, easy to stand up mini
Definitely great for protection, generally good. Am not thrilled with the usability of the stand feature but have not seen other cases that are any better.
The product was not of the quality that I expected.
I like the Smart Cover and the look but that's about it. It has extremely limited viewing angles and is impossible to type on unless its flat. The corners are held in place with thin elastic bands. If I dropped it, there would be no protection for the screen. I just bought an otter box.
I bought this one for $40 and bought two others at the same time (from a different seller). One of the others cost $6, the other cost $20. Of the three, the $20 one is the one I'm using. The M-Edge is ok, but surely not worth twice what the $20 one is. Also, the other two arrived (free shipping) in less than a week. I had to pay shipping for the M-Edge case, and it took more than three weeks.
This a wonderfully light, sturdy and convenient case. The only thing that would make it perfect would be to cut out holes on the inside support platform to accommodate the camera. this would have to be at either end so right and left handlers would not be inconvenienced. That way we would not have to take the mini out of the holder to take a picture, just fold it back.
