After looking at literally hundreds of cases, I went with the new Latitude and I'm extremely impressed. Instead of trying to be all things to all people, the Latitude focuses on basic objectives and surpasses expectations. The Latitude protects well without weighing a ton. In addition, the uView Mount offers a great sense of security. The design rocks: you can take pictures without removing the iPad from the case. You can angle your iPad for watching movies, chatting on Facetime or typing. There are no pockets that are too small to be useful. There are no loops that really don't serve any functionality. Well there is a loop for a stylus but that makes sense. Bottom line: this is a case that looks good, is light and offers great protection. At a great price. Well played M-Edge. Well played.
nice color and very durable - also for kids and travel
I too would like to be added to list about updated case as the zipper blocks part of the camera view. Case fold for typing still also quite high. 3 stars.
The Latitude is a great addition to keeping my 3rd gen iPad protected. After the first week of use, it is now not as stubborn when removing the iPad (yet still partially protected in the corners with the u-View backing) from the case. I use it with a Smart Cover, and the two of them work together well. The zipper is quality, and (as long as the iPad is centered) doesn't interfere with the edges of the iPad. My only complaint is that the sliding feature is a bit of a bummer. It is there so that you should be able to slide it up to take a picture of something (e.g. a sandwich on your desk) without having to remove it from the case. I've chatted with the friendly folks at M-Edge about this (and they mentioned that they are working out a solution for it) that the latitude is too large for this feature to work. Even when the iPad is slid all of the way, the case partially obstructs the camera lens. They put me on an e-mail list to be notified when it has been corrected, however, and let me know that I could make an exchange for free when the fix is released! Thank you, M-Edge, for the great customer service! Anyway, in the meantime, the only thing the sliding feature offers on this case is that the iPad (during travel) will unintentionally slide off-center so that it sometime, though rarely, obstructs the zipper when opening and I find myself having to recenter the iPad before zipping it back up.
Another excellent product from M-Edge - my third M-Edge product - Kindle Original & Kindle DX. Reasonably priced compared with the competition. Only suggestion is that the slots be opened to allow items to be placed inside which shouldn't detract from the mounting system. Very durable and functional. Like the color selection. First chose blue, then exchanged for red. Customer service helpful and courteous. Strongly recommend.
Love this case but I wish there were better options for colors. I don't like gray but it is on almost everyone. You can leave the basic colors, but give us a little variety on the contrast color!
In the past I have had to remove my IPad from the case to use my credit card reader. I looked at every case in the store and M-Edge is the only product that allows for the snug fit I need at the earphone jack. It also gives me a nice angle for having my customers sign the screen. I also would like to have the magnets in the cover pand better camera access but my husband and I have both abandoned other brands for M-Edge cases.
The Latitude case is perfect for my iPad. It is the most sturdy available and has perfect landscape and portrait positions. It zips closed and is safe for any travel situation.
It does everything it is advertised to do. It does not slide up high enough to use the camera fuly but I can use it in portrait position and use the camera. The color is what I expected it to be. I enjoy using it. It works as well as the nook reader case I had before.
I had a Latitude cover for my iPad 1 and loved it. I may go back to using it for the iPad 3 as I really miss the pockets. For one thing, I kept my camera adapter in the pocket. It is a problem for me to not have a pocket in the cover for the 3. Having said that, I do like the attachment system, though I can't figure out how to get the iPad to slide out so I can use the back camera. I like the color, and I like the stand for browsing but not for typing as the zippers are in the way when I use it for typing. The teal color really pops, which I like. I am torn between keeping it and returning it because of the lack of a pocket. If you don't need a pocket, and don't often plan to use the stand for typing, it is probably a great cover for you, for me, not so much. I am going to look at what else is available.
Just finishing my first trip and it was great. I really like the extra protection provided and the ability to position my new IPad worked great on the plane. On/off magnets would take it to a 5 star!
Awesome cover. Two covers in one really. I just really wish it had a small pocket to store ear buds. If it had that it would be 5 star. I would recommend it.
I had a latitude for my kindle and knew I wanted one for my new ipad. At first I found the plastic snapping in and out difficult but I've gotten used to that. I still feel like I might break it but no problems so far. I know the ipad is protected. It's a little more dicey using the camera in the jacket since this one has a zipper but it can work. I like it. Main reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is simply the plastic snapping in and out and the weight of it. I take it out of the jacket when I read for awhile as it can become heavy. Good product!
I have been waiting for a smart way to use my iPad in landscape and portrait mode. This jacket does it in the most efficient way. Much more than just worth the cost! I'm a happy guy! Pete
Very good quality, good workmanship and design. Changing orientation of the iPad to vertical isn't as easy as it looks on the video - at least not yet. Hope the plastic holds up over time and use. Keep my iPad stored there and use it daily.
This is my third M-edge cover for my IPad. Thin and lightweight, looks great and protects my investment. For the price best value in the M-edge catalog.
I liked that the case is zippered around the periphery so that the iPad is fully protected on all sides, but I find the mechanism for switching from portrait to landscape mode to be cumbersome and clumsy. I have an older Latitude case for a Nook Color which has a swivel stand in the back which has its own problems but is easier to use. I would have preferred a reinforced version of that to the set up that is offered now.
I bought this for my husband for his Ipad2, and he seems very happy with it. I specifically wanted this case because it zips closed to protect the tablet from dirt and while travelling. Also, I like to support local businesses (Baltimore area).
They seem to be made of stury material. The plastic holder is hard to secure in place so it is best left in the case. I bought 2 cases and I was very disappointed that one of them come with the feature of auto on/off and the other does not. Be carefull and specify that feature.
Well I already put a small dent in my iPad3 because of other case I bought. This case is perfect! Protects all around and easy to snap out if I just want to hold the ipad with no cover. I love this and it work wonderful especially since I travel alot and want something that totally protects my iPAD!
The latitude case was just a little too bulky.
Great for protecting the iPad when traveling.
Excellent cover. Would reccomd to any one. Excellent cover.
I was looking for a case that protected ALL the edges and sides for my iPad which is surprisingly hard to find. I wasn't sure I would like the zip around style but I love it! It protects all sides and keeps dust from getting into it. I wish that snapping it in and out of the case was easier because when you snap it off it seems like it's going to break but I guess I need to get used to it. I leave it in the case most of the time anyway. I also wish, when you put it in stand mode, that the bottom of the case was sturdier especially when it's in your lap and you don't want it to bend a little if sitting in certain positions. I do love the way it props up the iPad and protects it. Definitely a good purchase.
Very sturdy. The only thing I wish is that the orientation from horizontal to vertical could be changed more easily (i.e. with a quick turn). I worry about breaking the snap-in plastic frame. Otherwise, perfect for my needs.
A smart cover would've gotten this item 5 stars. Overall, it's a very good product. Apple smart cover can be used with it. As a plus, I can dock iPad 3 on altec Lansing octiv with frame attached to back of iPad.
This cover provides excellent protection for my iPad. I have a 2 year old and an infant and was worried about the minimal droppage protection offered by other cases. Those that did protect well seemed to encumber my access to the iPad itself. This provides what I think is the best combination of device accessibility and protection. My only qualms are the stylus holder and using the camera. I've tried two styli (styluses, whatever) - a Griffin and a Bamboo - both of which rub up against the iPad more than I'm comfortable with. Another reviewer mentioned issues with the camera because of the zipper. No matter what I try, I cannot seem to get the iPad positioned so that the zipper is out of the way in my pictures. But, I can easily snap it out of the case, take the pictures, and snap it back in. Because of those two things, I give this 4 stars - I'd really say it's 4.5 because I'm so thrilled with the protection and accessibility, but the system doesn't allow 4.5.
The Lattitude protects the I Pad and is convenient to use. It is everything I was hoping for in an I Pad cover. It is good looking and smart. It is what I have come to expect of Medge products.
I knew exactly what I wanted and I knew exactly where to get it. There are many similar products on the market, but there are none that compare to the quality of M-EDGE products!
It is very hard to get the plastic part out and to snap it back in. I also did not like the cloth that the jacket was made of. I liked the softer fabric that the old leisure jacket was made from for my old Kindle.
