portrait & landscape modes
multiple stand angles
secure mount
closure strap
I think this is a great looking, very functional cover. It looks great (I've gotten a lot of compliments on it), it's easy to use. I like that the iPad is easy to take out if need be. My only complaint is that switching the plastic holder from landscape to upright is difficult. It feels like I'm going to break the plastic. On the plus side I rarely want to do that. If I'm watching a movie I'm 99% of the time in landscape mode anyway. Overall a really well designed cover.
I bought this case/jacket for my new iPad about a month ago and I love it! It is really well made and does everything I need it to do. If there is a negative, and it is very small, it would be that putting the device into the clear plastic holder was a little tricky in that you need to use a lot of pressure to snap it into it, I was worried I would damage the iPad. Like I said it is a very minor negative since once it is in it is comforting to know it won't pop out on its own.
Overall this is a good case with a nice feel and look, with quality materials and it fits in my Trench Runner bag nicely. It is hard to believe that a group of engineers sat around a table and approved the snap out/rotate/snap in design. THE most inconvenient, non usable design I've experienced in quite awhile. Don't buy the case thinking "portrait" mode for regular use. If you have to practice to get something to sort of work, it's a bad idea.
This is a well thought out design that will be your iPad's best friend.
Great product and shipping was very prompt.
I missed the description not specifying that this did not have auto off for iPad. It is the only thing I regret about it. Otherwise it is awesome
Been using it a few weeks and am very happy with it. I love the snaps to make sure it stays shut, just wish there was a way to get them out of the way when placing on a table. Better case than my Incipio.
This case is ideal. I spend most of my time using my ipad in landscape mode whilst occasionally using it in portrait mode for Skyping family and friends. The M-Edge stand incorporated into the design is perfect for both functions and the canvas material is both rugged and fashionable. The service and delivery was both quick and efficient - I received the product in about a week which is very quick bearing in mind I'm in Australia!
I was looking for a case for my new IPAD and found the trip case on the internet, but after watching the video, I saw one case that seemed to have straps to secure it when closed. I searched the m-edge website and found the trench runner, I have not been disappointed, love the color and material, and the IPAD is easy to change positions or remove. waiting for the matching iphone5 case
The new iPad fits perfectly in the uView mounting system and the cover is thin n light good looking tough and easy to carry in style. It gives full view of the iPad as front is completely exposed to see.
Between my wife and I we have been though a lot cases and jackets for our iPads. This is definitively my favorite of the bunch. I originally went with Apple's smart case on my current iPad and hated it. This jacket makes the iPad much easier to hold without worrying about it slipping out of my hand. I also like that the base is big enough that the iPad can rest on the bed or other uneven surfaces without falling over, something the Smart Case certainly has trouble with. My only complaint is the difficultly in removing (and reinstalling) the uView bracket for the first time. It's a little hard to figure out and I was very nervous about breaking it. Now that I have figured it out, it works great. The jacket does not have magnets to automatically turn the iPad on or off when your open/close the cover. As has been discussed in other reviews, this is to prevent accidentally turning the iPad on while transporting as the front cover moves around. I would not hesitate recommending this jacket (or any other M-Edge product) to friends and family. I have had the Trip Jacket on my original iPad for two years and it still looks almost new. Because of the build quality of all the M-Edge products I have owned, I expect them to easily outlast the devices.
It's canvas. It's cool-looking. It securely holds the iPad 3 for certain (the new iPad 2012). And yet…what would have been five stars... - Functionality flop. (-1)the back flops away like limp toast when holding it closed and it's not latched (snapped) - Functionality flop. The supposedly easy to change landscape to portrait orientation will either result in spilled coffee or a broken case (am not willing to test either) at the breakfast table. Better to leave it in landscape. - Functionality flop. No magnets? What year is this? Bad assumption on my part that all "made for the new iPad" cases include shutoff magnets. Waiting for a better case to come along...
