portrait & landscape modes
auto-wake magnet
multiple stand angles
secure mount
I really like the case and the snap in design. It is really clean looking. You can fold the case into a lot of different positions. I like that I can fold it so that the microfiber inside does not touch the table. Great at coffee shs and the like. Note: one big thing is missing. Where is the magnet so the smart cover feature works?????? Good cover, but you dropped the ball in the red zone and settled for a field goal.
I have been through 3 other iPad cases (3rd gen), and I am finally satisfied with this one! Pros: (1) The design and feel of this case is great. High quality materials and it looks slick. Not bulky or heavy, and the iPad is secure. (2) It has the flexibility of landscape and portrait mode, each with multiple viewing angles. Essential for me as a musician reading digital music. (3) I can take pictures/videos easily with the case on because the iPad slides up. The one con is that the case doesn't have the auto-off feature, but that's not a huge deal to me as I push the sleep button instinctively when I'm done using it. My search for the ideal iPad case is done. ***Update: I've had the case for 5 weeks now--I'm happy as ever with it. They didn't publish my first review because I named the other cases I was unhappy with. Fair company, they don't let me rag on the competition. Customer service is also excellent--far better than others I've dealt with. Need I say more?
Where are the magnets for the smart cover ? If they come through with this missing feature, surely people would love this cover...also, would rather have a hole on back of the case than sliding to take pictures from your ipad...
The case is very functional and universal, but it is a little bulky, and I want to echo the last review where is the auto on & off. If you can put a closure why not make it magnetic?
Got it for only $5 at the Staples on Black Friday's deal at 6 am. Although it was very hard and difficult to separate the plastic frame from the cover and I had no ideal how since if I pull it, it might crack the plastic, this video helped me a lot!! Now I know how and will enjoy this!! Can't beat the price also!!
I have been through about 8 cases for my iPad 3, sad waste of money. This case is good, not perfect by any means but definitely useable and functional. A few opinions: Pros- Love the Mounting positions Stands up well in all positions Great removable design from the case itself Cons- No magnetic latch -- BIGGEST downfall! Why couldnt you guys put a magnet in this? Thick...a little too thick. Which is a pain...could be thinner I think. The Plastic edges around the iPad that mounts the iPad is hard on the hands when holding the iPad, why not smooth the edges like previous versions? Overall - Its good. It works.... until a new version...or someone decides to make a functional case.
This is the first case I really like. I bought the cobalt version. Pros: Sturdy cover, stable positions, doesn't fall off like Apple's cover Cons: cover doesn't stay closed (there is no sticky to the strip inside - am I missing something?) no magnetic close, no sleep mode. I am a bit afraid to try to unsnap the plastic frame but I prefer landscape anyway. Wasn't able to figure out the slide mode so can't use the camera. Will have to play with it a bit more. Big improvement over any case I've seen or used.
A great product and unbelievable customer support
Easy to clean, sturdy, multiple ways to watch in landscaping beside using th "triangle", the ridges on the leather work fine for different viewing positions. I don't like sliding the ipad to get acess to the camera, i just attached the ipad in a way that the camera is unobstructed when you fold the cover( this would normally make you lose the magnetic closing, since the ipad is in the wrong position, but this cover doesn't have magnetic closure so it is ok) Got it at groupon for around $ 16.00, i think $49.00 is a bit expensive though.
I was able to get the sticky strip to work - I had removed the overlay that came with the new product, but there was a thinner strip that needed to be removed as well. Now the cover is nice and secure. Will have to experiment with the slider as I couldn't figure this out yet. This is not a slimline case, but it is definitely great protection for my iPad, and completely 100% sturdy as a stand, no slipping, easy to set up. It provides a better viewing angle so there is no glare from overhead lights, which was a big problem with the Apple brand cover. Very delighted with my purchase and will tell my friends!

This is a well made cover that works exactly as described. The snap in and out mounting is difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it it is fast and easy to do. the stands work great. The little black closure strip inside works great and cleans easily when it start to lose suction. And really, who needs magnets to wake the iPad when you open it? It takes one push of a button to do it manually and then just one push to put it back to sleep. How lazy are we that this is too much work and is seen as a failing of design?
This case is very high quality-typical of M Edge products and I liked everything about it, EXCEPT-the nifty video showing how you unpop the skeleton and reorient it from portrait to landscape and back makes it look way easier than it is, at least for me. I had such a hard time getting it rehitched, and popping and reattaching, that I stopped using the case entirely and and bought a product from a competing company where you just twist from portrait to landscape-no snapping and unsnapping. If you just want to orient your iPad in landscape, the case is fine, or maybe you'll be better at flipping and reattaching than me. I will use the competing product where no unlocking and relocking is required to reorient, not this one from M Edge. I've put it on the shelf and will keep it as a spare. Great concept, but poor execution-for me, just too hard to use.
Clunky design - you cannot move easily from landscape to portrait mode
Thought it wouldn't be bulky..it was. Thought it would be easy to put on...wasn't. Thought it would slide up easily in order to use the camera...didn't. Thought it would be easy to stand up vertically...wasn't. Disappointed in Medge.
