Well, it finally happened and I cannot totally blame the jacket for this but...my iPad finally slipped and fell to the ground (and the glass cracked). I was worried that because there is no way to keep the flappy flap, double-bendy cover from buckling and then collapsing, when you hold it with the flap-side facing downward and out, that this day would come. I am sad that because of my falsely developed confidence that this jacket would make my iPad safe from short drops, I ignored my own impulse to sew some sort of 1" wide elastic fabric closure to the stiff side to to bind the cover shut when mobile. It would just make the thing a heck of a lot more secure and not be prone to buckling like an aging NFL player's knee. Might be a design upgrade worth considering...PS, I'm the "son-in-law" mentioned in the review above.
I love the fact that it is leather and purple, but wish that it had something to keep it closed. I dropped my iPad from about 1 ft from the ground and it shattered in the half of the screen that became exposed after it folded open. Now I am using an elastic hairband to keep it shut.
They advertise that you can use the rear camera while it is still in the case and show pictures illustrating it but they do not mention that you have to put the iPad in upside down in order to do it. You can see in the pictures where they show the rear camera that the apple logo is upside down.
We are sorry for any confusion or frustration! You are correct that to use the rear-facing camera, as advertised, the iPad should be mounted with the Home button at the top. Thank you for pointing this out!
The rear camera is not exposed. If you install the iPad on the right side of the case when opened, you will NOT have access to the camera without removing the iPad from the case. You would have to install the iPad upside down to get access to the rear camera. Look at the video and at first the iPad is installed correctly but when they show the access to the rear camera the case flipped where the the iPad is on the left (but yet is upside down). That's a bit deceiving or a major flaw that was looked over. Otherwise I love the case. Magnetic on/off would be nice or some way to hold the case closed would be a nice feature.
You are correct that the iPad must be installed with the home button at the top for the camera to be accessed. Due to the self-rotating display, we did not feel that this orientation interferes with or detracts from using the device in this jacket, but we understand if you feel differently. Thank you for your feedback!
I bought this jacket in the UK, the channels for positioning the device are not as deep as shown on the video - simply a stitched fold of the fabric, however it keeps my device reassuringly secure at all viewing angles. The adjustment from landscape to portrait mode is quick and easy once you get over the amount of pressure it takes to snap the plastic mount out of the cover, the mounting system slides up out of the case about an inch in portrait mode to expose the camera for taking photos and the magnetic closing catch initiates sleep mode. What more could I ask from my cover? Like one of the other reviewers, I bought this thinking it would be a cheap starter cover to be replaced at a later date, but now I've used it for a while you'd have to fight me for it!!
I'm very pleased with the cover for the most part. The only thing I dislike is that I can not use my camera. I have tried to take it out to turn it around but it won't budge. Im afraid to be too forceful because I think it will break &then I will have a useless cover.
Hi Kassie, I am sorry to hear you are having trouble getting the iPad out of the mounting system. Please contact customer service and we will gladly help you. Thank you! -Team M-Edge
My wife got one of these from work with her work iPad. When I got my iPad I looked at all types and brands of covers. This cover was by far the best of any I saw including many othe models E-Edge sells.
I am very happy with my new incline jacket. I had got my first one at best buy and it was defective. I sent an email to the company and they took it from there I put in the mail postage paid and sent it back. I email them to check the status and they all ways got back to me. They were very good!!!! I want to say thanks and I would recommend the product and company to any one. Thanks to ever one!
I ordered it from South America and it arrived to my door in just a few days. I like the way the Ipad is attached to the cover. I hate those covers that hide the bezel of the ipad. Very functional. It does what you would expect. If you don't mind (as i don't) the rear camera thing stated in other comments, i think this is the winner y "full" covers. My only complain is that it was more expensive than in best buy. But they don't ship internationally.
the m-edge is outstanding! it's sturdy, lightweight, and comfortable. it folds at just the perfect angle. definitely buy this cover instead of the other pointless ones.
It's kind of frustrating that if you install it like the packaging says so it opens like a book with the iPad on bottom, you can't use the camera but on the packaging it says all cameras and buttons are accessible. If you want to use the camera though you have to put it in upside down.

I don't think he's just trying to butter me up, either! He wrote, "The gift rocks. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't make me use the iPad less, in fact maybe more. In fact, everybody uses it more."
I love the secure snap in mounting system!! This mounting system works great-I don't have to take the ipad in or out to take video or photos and the snap on it is snug-just the way it should be! I wish they would make one like it for the Ipad Mini!- (get rid of those annoying straps that they use with that case style!) ! The interior has held up great still soft and the exterior still as classy as the day I bought it! Durable and stylish!
It's wonderful, useful and so pretty!!!!! My ipad is safe and classy!
is this case made from real leather?
No. It is made from a very high quality synthetic leather. - Jackie, Team M-Edge
Awesome case/stand for my iPad. Love it! Good quality, very functional.
My only complaint is that it doesn't automatically go into sleep mode when you close it, I have to manually put it into sleep. Is anyone else having that issue?
This goodie fit my needs perfectly. It protects the back and doesn't leave strange stripes on my screen like other covers that Apple sells. Plus, the pink is really pretty!!
I'm impressed with the quality of this cover and with its versatility. It folds into numerous positions for a good viewing experience. It's also very tactile and hides well in a bookshelf. I'm buying another for a friend. It's not leather, by the way, but a leather-like microfiber material, not that I mind.
I actually chose this one because it was purple and Leather while most of the others were basic and black. I also figured out that I had to put my iPad in upside down but I'm ok with that. I like that my iPad is secure around the edges. And the material on the inside keeps my screen clean. Over all you get what you pay for and I'm glad I paid extra for this.
Very functional and cnfortable the best on the market I order two more for my daughters
